We booked a Bergen Fjord cruise to Alversund Streams on our second to last day in Bergen via Expedia. Really easy as we did not want an all-day cruise but just something easy, see some fjords and then come back to the city. We sailed for 3 hours from Bergen to the Alversund Streams. We departed from Bergen’s famous Fish Market and got great views of the Bergenhus medieval fortress, St Mary’s church and the colorful Bryggen Hanseatic wharf, which is on UNESCO’s world heritage list. Of course, this cruise makes the perfect backdrop to get those picture-perfect shots. This is a good option to see the beautiful Western Norwegian scenery for $50 per person.
Onboard, you’ll get stunning views of the City Fjord, Salhus Fjord and Kverna Fjord as you approach the Alversund Streams. There’s a bar and café onboard. You can also bring your own snacks. Needless to say, you’ll get to capture breathtaking photos of the Norwegian postcard perfect landscapes in the Nordland region. This round-trip cruise departs all year from the Børshopen pier in the city center. We were lucky to get a perfect September day where you only needed a shirt under the sun but a trench coat is always a good friend when it hides. The Mango oversized striped shirt is perfect because it’s light and loose and gives you that boldness you want to match the beautiful views.
