Healesville Sanctuary & Yarra Valley Wine Tasting
If you have three days in Melbourne and are looking to cover the must-see spots, here’s what I recommend. Book a tour to go to the Healesville Sanctuary paired with a nice lunch at the oldest vineyard in Yarra Valley, Yering Station, and enjoy two wine tasting experiences. The sanctuary was very nice, we got to see koalas, kangaroos, the animal hospital and learn so much about Australian native animals and endangered species. We started the day at 9:00 AM and got to the sanctuary at around 10:30 AM.

At 1:00 PM we headed to Chateau Yering for a lovely lunch with a nice view. Then we had a five-wine tasting and got to see some of the property. Later, we went to DeBartoli vineyard for another five-wine tasting paired with cheeses. They were so nice that got me a little rose to try as well. On the way back, our tour guide stopped by a nearby golf course, and we spotted about 100 kangaroos just hanging out on the course. It was a fantastic day. The guide gave us the rundown of Melbourne’s architecture as we were leaving and arriving back at the city and dropped us off by the city market to see more sights.
