In my thirties, I’ve been more shopping conscious than my early twenties. I’ve always valued quality over quantity, since I was little I remember always getting one item while my sister got 3, back then it was also because my extreme petite body didn’t fit in all brands but that is another story for another time. Let’s focus on quality, I think of style as a collection of beautiful pieces I invest money in because I know these pieces will last a long time and transcend trends. I tend to lean toward a classic, polished and romantic style. I love the trendy piece here and there but most of the time I focus on pieces I know I will wear for many years to come. Enter this dress and Reformation. I’m a fan.

Throughout the years, I’ve gathered a few staple pieces, mostly dresses, because I feel the most comfortable in dresses and you have to wear what you like otherwise where’s the fun in it?! This ¾ length sleeves dress with elastic shoulders, sexy but subtle side slit, puffed sleeve and smocked bodice has been part of my treasures for over three years. I like the romantic print and warm tones that can take me from spring to summer. I was in NYC last month, and if wore this cutie 3 times, with an oversized sweater blazer, a pashmina and on its own depending on the weather that day as NYC weather tends to be a little temperamental in the spring to summer transition.

I styled the dress with flat sandals, sneakers and heels, very versatile, which I love. If you don’t know the Reformation brand, I encourage you to check it out. I particularly like the Upper East Side store, my old neighborhood, as you can preview the styles on a screen, pick the print and size and then the pieces magically appear in your dressing room. The NoHo location also offers this but it’s a smaller store. Reformation launched over a decade ago and they focus on sustainability. They are known for making effortless silhouettes that celebrate the feminine figure and pioneer sustainable practices.
