DRESS: STAUD VALENCIA LINEN DRESS | EARRINGS: BAUBLEBAR BLAIR PEARL & CRYSTAL EARRINGS | SHOES:  STEVE MADDEN TRACIE KITTEN HEEL SANDALS, CURRENTLY ON SALE.

Light dresses are a hot commodity in summer. You want to look cute but you have to be realistic and when the weather is very hot, you need the lightest layers possible so you can be comfortable while trying not to drench all over you. This linen dress is perfect for an event, it’s light and the “tales” in the back make such a statement. I rented it of course because summer in Florida and Madrid is brutal. This white mini linen dress is great for the office, it’s structured and light. I’ve worn it from St. Tropez to DC to Madrid. You can pair this type of style with raffia mules, sandals or kitten heels. Pick your comfort level.

This pocket dot dress was a gift from my little sister and has an open back which was great for a very hot Palm Beach day. I felt sexy, confident and I got a nice breeze when walking. The wide brim raffia hat was a gift from my mom from St. Augustine and felt very Pretty Woman walking down the street on the island. Kitten heels are very comfortable ,so I wear them when I want to feel a little more elevated than with my usual Steve madden sandals. The oversized pear earrings are classic and felt appropriate for the look. Give me all the oversized stud earrings I can find.

The final style I’m sharing today is this blue S-line dress I got from my mom. It’s very flattering, the color is nice for afternoon and evening events, and you can dress it up or down. Throw on kitten heels for a not so casual look and switch them for flat sandals for a day you know you’ll be walking a lot more. I went to an event at a museum so it was a nice look. The dress doesn’t even have a label because it’s an old one my mom found in her closet, which makes it even better because it was just the right fit. The key is always to be comfortable and to understand what works for your own body.
