It’s finally jacket and sweater weather in Madrid. Light layers, crisp morning, patio sitting with the sun shining, people out and about and an excuse to pull out my favorite layers. This gold jacquard blazer is borrowed from a friend but it’s from ZARA, very quilted and a statement on its own. Wear it casual with jeans and a white tee or throw it on top of a black dress for an evening out, you’ll make sure to turn heads around. This is a good option for October and November when the temperatures are still very mild in Madrid so light layers do the trick.

Moving on to this very cute triangle scarf that I cannot get enough of. I first spotted it at ZARA last year ,but I got distracted and didn’t get it. Fast forward to this summer, I found this very affordable option at Uniqlo and as your friend that is always searching the internet for good finds so you don’t have to, I’ve added more than 6 places where you can get this exact same one or similar ones, most under $25 because this tiny item should not be expensive. Add it to any sweater or blazer or trench coat and your outfit will be instantly elevated. You can wear the same color on the triangle scarf and the top or you can create a contrast, depends on my mood, really.

For a leisure weekend of walking around, doing some tardeo, where we just sit on a terrace, watch people walk by, enjoy a glass of wine and catch up on the week, a bright pop of red over a classic trench coat felt so right. Of course, it’s Madrid, so right at 2:00 PM I had to reduce the layers to the grey sweater and triangle scarf, the color contrast was all I wanted. Loafers are my go when I’m not wearing sandals, they always look elegant even when worn casual. In a month or two I will likely add wool socks, bright red or grey but for now, this works just fine. I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Note that the only new item from all three outfits is this accessory addition, it can transform your look into something brand new!
