Since it’s still warm in Madrid, I get to play around a little more with linen pieces that I love, enter the most fitted and elegant vest from Attersee and this Mango linen pants, the only ones that fit my petite body. I’ve tried them in every size, brand and finally this year, I found the ones that fit just right! I wore this look last week to an art event and it was the perfect mix for a fresh summer into fall day. I like the simplicity of this look. I’ve appreciated the vest and linen pants or short style for a while, but it takes a while for me to find pieces that I like how they fit.
This is mostly because I’m petite but not short so sometimes the search is harder. Whether I’m investing in a high-quality piece like this vest or finding an affordable basic such as this linen pair of pants, I like to take my time, try them, see the quality, feel it and decide whether I really like a style on me. It’s important to know your body and understanding what looks good and what doesn’t. I like fitted pieces but also enjoy oversized blazers or jeans with a straight fit but it’s all a trial and error when trying new styles or getting acquainted with a new brand. Wearing clothes that fit my body always puts me in a better mood.
I smile when I put something on that fits me and reminds me of when I bought it in the first place. Sometimes I buy outfits for certain events that I know I will have in the future. I take good care of them by placing them in garment bags to keep the dust away. One tip I can give you when traveling, which is a big part of our time is that I always try outfits in front of the mirror before I pack them. I’m talking about the entire look, with shoes, sunglasses, accessories and with bags when I have enough space for more than one, which is not often as I tend to travel with only a carry-on unless we are going home to Ecuador and we go for a few months and need more options.
