Hello September and hello fall season! Fall is one of my favorite seasons to dress for. Let’s kick off the knits, chunky sweaters and layers party already. The transition from summer to autumn is seamless. You can still wear your summer pieces, but you start adding layers as the days get shorter and cooler. I’m all about barn jackets, jean jackets, jeans, oversized shirts and relaxed looks. There’s something about putting together looks as the leaves start to change colors, the temperatures get cooler, it’s nice enough to have an al fresco dinner and you can wear those pieces that you’ve stored in your closed from spring and last fall.
With that in mind, I’m proud to say that I know what I own and love what I wear. It’s important to know your closet so you can realistically assess before buying something new. Take this look for example. You probably already have a midi skirt, and a light sweater top you can match together to get a similar look. Something that is polished, that you can dress it up or down, take it to from the office to happy hour and to brunch on the weekends. A striped matching set is always a good friend to have around. The gold button details give it an elevated feel and the perfect match for my J.Crew earrings.
