Brooklyn Botanical Garden is open daily. It’s a good daytime activity, entry is under $20, and only 30 minutes from NYC by train. It’s located at 990 Washington Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11225. It’s a garden so wear comfortable shoes. In the summer there are many activities and good to take your kids as well. There’s a patio where you can relax, have a bite to eat and even a glass of rose or two to cool off from the heat or just because you’ve earned it. The scenery is beautiful, tons of different colors and a great backdrop for photoshoots so if you’d like you can take your summer best frocks with you for a stroll and have a little fun.

Now, let’s talk about the outfit. You can’t never have too many white tees, right? The price is a little high for a tee and I normally would not do it, but the quality is fantastic, I love the fit and it lasts forever. I have it in two colors from 6 years ago and they still look and feel like new. The skirt is inspired by an old Caroline Constas skirt I’ve had for a decade now, probably my favorite skirt. I found this cute fabric while I was at home and my tailor did the magic so I can have a similar one to take on my upcoming trip to Europe. The asymmetry of it makes it fun to wear, the flirty back covers any wind that may come your way and the short front makes it playful.

You can plan to be at the botanical garden for about 2.5 hours give or take a little extra if you sit down to grab a bite to eat. Don’t be alarmed if you buy tickets for the Washington Avenue entrance but end up at the Flatbush Avenue one, you can still get in through either. A little tip if you are able to go on a weekday in December through February, you can enter free/pay what you wish/donation. No dogs allowed. Brooklyn Museum is next door so if you have the time, you can knock that one down from your list the same day. The bluebells were in full bloom this month when I went and for a second I was transported elsewhere, it was breathtaking.
