As we emerge ourselves a little more into autumn and we watch my favorite season unfold, styling gets more fun as we play with rich strong colors and catch the essence of the season. Subtle transitional pieces such as this very soft, elegant and chic sweater blazer from J.Crew paired with a classic pleated grey midi skirt is perfect to wear in Madrid in October. I like to pair classic and atemporal pieces such as blazers, cardigans and pleated pants and skirt with my fall wardrobe. I always start with a basic piece and build it up. The best thing for fall wardrobe is that most basic pieces are already sitting on your closet, so you don’t have to spend more to look your most self!

I do a add a piece here and there but for the most part, the majority of my autumn wardrobe is a collection of timeless pieces I’ve been collecting for years, some for over a decade. If the quality is good, you’ll be surprised how long they last! The instant feeling of putting on an outfit makes me feel sophisticated, put together and right. Comfortable and multipurpose staples for transitional dressing are part of my core styling lexicon. Being effortlessly chic as we take those mild switches between warm days and crisp nights. Layers is fun but sometimes a pain when you have to calculate the different temperatures so you’re not sweating when you’re indoors.
