Madrid in February feels like spring, somedays it will be in the 60s and you can get away with a skirt and a chunky sweater, other days it will be in the high 50s and you’ll be more comfortable with jeans, a t-shirt, an oversized coat and flats, if during the day and not windy, I’ll go flats only, other days I will add wool socks for extra warmth, it depends how long I will be walking outside. Speaking from my personal wardrobe experience, now that I’m in 40s, I’ve been leaning more towards loose items.
The fit works and most of my purchases are done with a quality and tenure in mind, last time, I purchased coats was in my 20s so I hope that this style plus another camel one from J.Crew last for the next 20 years as well. Keep it simple. Minimalist looks are always an easy choice and luckily this has been the trend for many years now, which makes it easier to shop for that one piece you’ll wear for a long time and given the many options you have you don’t have to break the bank to get it.
I’ve always liked Mango and this coat is great as I got it in Madrid but under 60 Euros. It’s not as light as a jacket but it works for me. From the ones that I’ve tried, this one is the best from a price and quality point of view. The older I get, the more I purchase items knowing that my body will change more than when I was in my 20s so I want to have room for looser pieces and this oversized coat gives me that option while also having a somewhat fitted look, which is my preference.
