Madrid in early October is perfection, probably the best time to visit besides April, May and September. The days are sunny and warm, and the mornings and evenings are cool. What to wear in Madrid in early October is easy because it’s the perfect combination between summer and fall. Pack light, bring a light jacket, sweater, pants, midi skirt, maxi skirt, and summer dresses because it will still be summer weather during the day. You can look cute without sweating.
This past weekend was very warm, so I opted for a simple loose cropped shirt to feel structured and polished. I paired it with a printed high-waist midi skirt to bring attention to my waist, highlight summer colors but also fall with the dark red. This simple look was ideal for a Sunday afternoon in Salamanca, lunch at Paraguas, shopping, and a stroll in Parque del Retiro. When dressing up in a walkable city like Madrid and let’s be honest, most European capitals, comfortable shoes are key.
