October in Portugal offers summer temperatures, cheaper hotel rates and fewer crowds than in summer, but it may rain at times so an umbrella and sweater will be good to pack. No need for a jacket just yet. You can even go to the beach in fall. My packing list included maxi dresses, denim jumpsuits, straw hats, sandals, sneakers, midi skirts, crop tops and a light sweater. We spent 2 nights/3 days in Lisbon, which is a good amount to cover the basics, experience the cuisine and Portuguese life and take the time to see the neighborhoods without rushing. BRUNCH: Dear Breakfast, Cotidiano, Eat Pray Love Lisboa.

LUNCH: Cantinho do Avillez. DINNER: M’arrecreo Pizzeria, Coyo Taco, Tapas Bar 52. DRINKS: Javá rooftop, Lumi rooftop bar, Park Bar, Federico. Garrafeira Imperial for wine tasting in the afternoon. STAY: Palacio Ludovice Wine Experience Hotel. Go to Chiado for shopping and food. Pink street is fun. Terre de Belem is wonderful then walk to the Monastery dos Jeronimos. Go to the parks, take in all the tiles, ceramics and fabrics that Lisbon has to offer. See the cathedral, take the tram, go up and down all the little side streets. We spent the most time in Chiado and Bairro Alto neighborhoods. See the Santa Justa lift. Walk to Cais das Colunas, pass through the Arco da Rua Augusta.
