Latino Runway to Win

You’ve probably heard of Runway to Win, the Obama reelection fashion campaign where top fashion designers have put their minds together and come up with Obama inspired designs. Fashion has no limits and as a person that appreciates fashion, I’m very glad to see this collaboration come together.

What you probably have not noticed is that two of the designers have Hispanic backgrounds and I just wanted to take a moment and highlight the collaboration of two Cuban Americans, Narciso Rodriguez and Lazaro Hernandez, co-founder of Proenza Schouler.

Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Altuzarra, Vera Wang, Jason Wu are also among the designers collaborating with the Runway to Win campaign. The designs are in the simple, campaign gear style spectrum such as graphic tees and tote bags.

Chambray & Orange

As we approach spring, remember to bring those bright colors out of your closet. By adding a bright JCrew Excursion quilted vest to the mix, you’ll get a spring ready to wear outfit. I try to keep my outfits very casual on the weekends whether I’m running errands or shopping so it’s easy to try things on and keep it comfortable.

There are many chambray shirts variations but the JCrew keeper chambray one is my favorite, it fits right and the color is just right. Blue and white (JCrew matchstick jean) was an easy choice.

JCrew Spring 2012 Collection

This year’s spring collection is full of fun and colors. JCrew brings all-time classics such as the Jackie twinset sweaters, Capri pants in lovely dahlia, pinks, blues and many more colors, super comfy pointy flats you can wear to the office, to run errands and just about anywhere else. I can’t stop thinking about the sequin skirt, it’s too fantastic. The schoolboy blazers and tippi sweaters are every day items I totally recommend to add to your closet. Happy shopping everyone!

Shine On

Metallics are very in this spring 2012, you can pair them up with neutrals and even patterns. Your outfits will shine a bit brighter with metallics paired with blacks, white, and browns to keep an even balance. The sky is the limit with your metallic pants, shorts, and skirts. They will sparkle like a starry night! Golden moments happen with sequin shorts and an oversize blouse or sweater. High gloss and sparkly metallic pieces are the perfect mix of luxury and glamour. Raise your glass and toast to a chic, champagne-colored skirt. Cheers!
