Simple Black

There can be many black dresses in your life not just the one. Especially when it comes to work outfits. I love black dresses whether to go out or to go to the office, they’re always a classic piece and you can dress them up and down depending on the accessories you have. Take this black H&M dress for example, I have had it for a few years now and it’s still going strong. It’s a bit shorter than what I usually wear to work but I usually wear it with flats or tights in the fall when I go to the office. If I’m going to a happy hour though, I bring the heels on (Zara).

Also on this shoot: LAMB bag, House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea sunglasses, Mint Julep clover earrings, Michael Kors oversize gold watch, Stella & Dot bracelet, Forever 21 bracelets. Here’s a little trick that has helped me take good care of my clothes throughout the years: I keep dry-cleaning plastic covers and cover my clothes with them. The plastic covers keep my clothes like new, cover them from dust and when I unwrap a dress, it feels like it’s brand new. My organized self plus the bags have helped keep some clothes for over 10 years, crazy right?

Pencil

When it comes to chic office outfits, I tend to go with pencil style pieces. It’s very simple, the high waist of the pencil style elongates your body, it’s fitted and has a subtle way to mesh with your body. The pencil style accentuates your waist, hugs your curves and pushes you to pay more attention to your walk. So you know ladies, get your strut on!

Pencil style is such a classic look, it’s timeless and you can wear it up or down depending on the fabric and added items you decide to wear your outfit with. Make sure the fit is right on the waist and hips, the rest will fall into place by itself.

My look: Asos Midi pencil dress, Zara shoes, Marc by Marc Jacobs Q Hillier bag, Mint Julep starfish earrings and Rayban aviators.

Whether you’re mixing a patterned pencil skirt with a solid color shirt or have a solid pencil skirt and a solid color shirt, just follow your instinct, be confident and stay comfortable. You’ll see how easy it is to make a pencil style outfit work.

Dot Dot Dot

I love hosting dinner parties; having people over and cooking can be very fun. Although it’s usually Will who does most of the cooking, I like to organize, plan and do a few appetizers, it must be the planner in me.

This H&M polka dots dress (last seen here) is one of my favorite dinner outfits and matches my Anthropology polka dots apron. Double polka dots, yes please!

Zara suede shoes, Michael Kors watch, Mint Julep bracelet, Forever21 polka dots earrings.

Big thanks to Billy Simpson for doing this phooshoot.
