VISIT SALAMANCA: Went to Salamanca after wine tasting nearby at Hacienda Zorita, details of our stay here, walked for a couple of hours, took in all the beautiful architecture, watched the sunset hit the cathedral with all the vibrant colors and had a meal. Salamanca is an easy day trip from Madrid. It’s fun, quick, affordable and you can go by train or car. It’s just a couple of hours from Madrid. Plenty of parking available. It’s a college town so I even spotted a Brooklyn place, which made me feel at home. Don’t miss the cathedral, Casa Lis, Casa de las Conchas, Convent San Esteban, Roman bridge, university, Plaza Mayor, Ieronimus Tower (old cathedral).
