Postcards from Central Park

DRESS: MAJORELLE SHILOH MINI DRESS | SHOES: NIKE DAYBREAK SHOES | SUNGLASSES: KAREN WALKER SUPER DUPER STRENGTH ROUND ACETATE SUNGLASSES.

I love coming back to NYC and visiting old favorites but also show my husband new places without being rushed, just a new place here and there while having the time to stroll down the park, grabbing a coffee and enjoying where we are while we are there.

The Dress: I’m a big fan of the Majorelle brand. The fit is always right and their pieces are elegant and stylish. For this dress though, it was a bit big on the chest area for me so I would have to get it tailored. That being said, the rest of the fit is great. It’s form-fitting, elastic sleeves, very complimentary on your figure and you can wear it with sneakers for a lunch in Central Park or thrown on heels for a night out. It’s breathable and the waist is not tight, you can choose to leave the tie belt or remove it.

The shoes: I’ve had these Nike sneakers for about a year now and the verdict is very comfortable! Yes, they are very white and although I was hesitant at the beginning because I’m such a clean freak, cleaning them while traveling has been very easy. Just with a little bit of soap and warm water, I’ve been able to clean them and they continue to look brand new. Let me highlight that the main reason they got dirty on the sides was because I was dragging my carry on in the rain and I kept bumping it on my shoes as I was trying to go faster than what I actually could so if you have that nailed down, I can almost guarantee a clean stroll down the city.

The place: I took my husband to Tavern on the Green, located at W 67th St, New York, NY 10023, for lunch because I haven’t been in years, last time was for a baby shower or bridal shower I believe, and it’s an iconic place in Central Park. The elegant garden setting and courtyard are the perfect setting for a relaxed lunch in the midst of it all. We chose to sat in the covered glass patio as you have the best view of the courtyard and garden while enjoying the covered, more elegant fare if you ask me. We shared a couple of salads as we weren’t that hungry. It’s a very classic New York City afternoon that I highlight recommend if you haven’t done it yet.
