Linens for summer are like ice cream treats in summer, a must-have! Now, let’s get into the details. Who doesn’t love a linen piece in the heat of the summer? I found this structured yet breathable open back linen dress from Mango and I wanted to share it in case someone is looking for a similar piece without breaking the bank because let’s be honest, our hard-working money should be saved for the trips and the meals we want to have while looking effortless chic in linen pieces. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Mango has amazing quality pieces at great price points, so your wallet is a happy camper.
Summer is, at least I hope this year is, when things slow down, people take more vacations and get to enjoy life at a slower pace. I have never really been someone that goes after trends just because everyone is wearing them. I like to keep it simple and classic with a touch of sophistication. This dress is exactly that. This Mango dress is unapologetically timeless and fuzz free, just like me. I know what I like and what fits me right. This dress style, scoop neck, fitted torso, A-line skirt is what I live in most of summer. Linen dresses sit right in the middle of practicality and style.
Keep in mind that Mango has great sales so if an item is a little out of your budget, check back in a week or during the holidays that you’ll get the same item at a discounted price. These types of dresses though are classic staples, uncomplicated pieces you’ll wear and cherish for years. Linen dresses translate to effortless summer outfits. Many times, you can wear them without a bra which takes away one layer you don’t have to sweat in! I start bringing out my linen pieces from May until around September or October. Linen sets are classic, dresses you can add rattan belts or wear a tank top with a linen A-line skirt. There’s something for everyone.
This dress has a seamless boned build in the bodice, which creates a shaping effect of a classic corset. I have two cotton A-line midi dresses from H&M that were a little higher than usual, around $70 a piece that I got in two prints, but these were from a special collection, so the fabric has remained intact. Simply cotton but I bought them maybe a decade ago and still wear them because they’re classic and perfect for summer outings, even for semiformal events, take a look here and here.
