Stowe

Last weekend I went on a skiing trip to Stowe, VT and even though it was second time ever skiing, I had a great time. I took classes again after almost having a meltdown when I went up to a highish mountain, beginners wise anyways.

I took a class, killed it, and at the end of the trip I did all the green mountain levels but for the last one which I felt was quite an accomplishment. I’m not going to lie, I did enjoy going up and down the bunny slopes for hours, honestly it’s the best place to get your confidence and gain courage to move on (again this is from a beginners’ point of view).

Besides all the adrenaline going on and Will’s push to keep on going to next level, I very much enjoyed wearing my new skiing gear. I wore a North Face Kira triclimate jacket and North Face insulated pants.

I felt comfortable, stylish, wore Under Armour cold climate gear and let’s face it, not everyone wears pink jackets and white pants which makes it easy to find me in case I get on the wrong path.

There are still a few weeks left on this year’s skiing season, whether you’re going to Vermont, Lake Tahoe, Austria or other places. Happy Friday everyone, xoxo!

Neon

Spring is just around the corner and vibrant colors are here to stay. That’s right, neons are in this season. Mix and match different colors for a fun outfit. When in doubt, ask me. The JCrew keeper chambray shirt and JCrew Toothpick jean in garment-dyed twill light citron are among my favorite weekend uniform pieces.

In the winter, I throw a JCrew double-cloth lady day coat, vintage belt and scarf for warmth. As it gets warmer, I will just wear wedges, flats, sandals or pumps. Steve Madden leopard ETERNNAL flats, Michael Kors watch, Mint Julep Starfish Earrings.

Tippi

When it comes to professional outfits, I try to keep it classy and simple.  As you know, I’m addicted to JCrew, half of my work outfits are from JCrew, it not more. The JCrew Minnie pant in stretch twill is one of my essential work pieces. I have it in kaki, grey, black and navy. They’re classic and you can wear them throughout the seasons.

The JCrew tippi sweater is merino wool and a great match for the pants, add pearls (old form White House Black Market) for a classic look.

Steve Madden blush pumps.

Latino Runway to Win

You’ve probably heard of Runway to Win, the Obama reelection fashion campaign where top fashion designers have put their minds together and come up with Obama inspired designs. Fashion has no limits and as a person that appreciates fashion, I’m very glad to see this collaboration come together.

What you probably have not noticed is that two of the designers have Hispanic backgrounds and I just wanted to take a moment and highlight the collaboration of two Cuban Americans, Narciso Rodriguez and Lazaro Hernandez, co-founder of Proenza Schouler.

Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Altuzarra, Vera Wang, Jason Wu are also among the designers collaborating with the Runway to Win campaign. The designs are in the simple, campaign gear style spectrum such as graphic tees and tote bags.
