Light it Up

JCREW pretty much rules my work wardrobe. I love it, it’s so classy, chic and it just fits rights! I find myself using its clothes for all types of occasions, so easy to mix and put together great outfits. This outfit is one of my favorites, I can wear it to the office and to go out, isn’t it great when you can wear the same outfit for two different places?

JCrew anchor blouse (similar here), H&M bright yellow blazer (current), JCrew minnie pants, Lower East Side (under $20) tan flats, LAMB bag, House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea sunglasses, Michael Kors watch, Stella & Dot renegade bracelet, and my favorite hair accessory: the top knot also known as the hair bun!

Black Tie Optional Attire

I love showcasing what friends and other stylish women wear on my blog and when I saw beautiful Beth wearing a sleek Robert Rodriguez (similar here) dress at a wedding we were at, I had to snag a few shots and show her amazing dress. Her black tie optional attire was perfection.

I mean, come on, how can I not include her when she was looking like this? Beth sported this fantastic dress paired up with J.Crew earrings and clutch, and Manolo Blahnik shoes. Don’t forget the top knot bun, always a classic, easy to do hair-do and perfect for any outfit you decide to wear. I adored this look on her.

Peplum

Peplum outfits are taking over our closets! I’m not going to lie.. I have a few peplum outfits. I first fell in love with a Zara pink peplum dress and then this H&M peplum top (similar here) added itself to my closet. I’m still contemplating the idea of getting this fabulous leather peplum top for fall but haven’t committed just yet.

To complete the outfit I choose this H&M pencil skirt (similar here, here and here), Zara heels (last time seen here), House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea sunglasses, Michael Kors watch, arm party: Stella & Dot renegade bracelet, H&M, Foverer 21.

When I first put this outfit together I immediately thought cocktail party outfit, engagement party outfit. You can also wear it in the fall if you just throw a jacket or trench coat.

Lady in Red

Black tie optional attire … that’s exactly how I feel when I get a wedding/event invitation with this dress code. I first go blank, then a slide show of my dresses pops in my head, then I figure out what time of day, location and season the wedding/event is at and then I decide what to wear.

Black tie optional attire for girls can go from elegant short, knee-high or long dresses. The material, accessories, shape of the dress, color and so much more come into play when deciding what’s appropriate.

This time I picked my BCBG Snejana one-shoulder evening gown. I’ve been saving it for a while! My Jimmy Choo Lance sandals were an obvious choice. They’re awesome, comfortable, I can actually dance all night long with my Choos and I’m fine. As far as accessories: Michael Kors watch, Stella & Dot renegade bracelet, Forever21 earrings (recent), vintage clutch and Max Azria heels.
