DIY Creative Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner and I’m sure everyone has old costumes and accessories you have collected throughout the years. Talk to your friends and exchange costumes and accessories, it’s fun and it will save you money.

Get creative and buy small accessories to compliment your costume such as cat ears and gadgets for your cat-woman costume. For a top gun or sheriff costume, add your personal accessories such as aviator sunglasses to reduce the overall cost.

This year, I was a firefighter and decided to add my own style and wear my high suede heels instead of the usual fishnet stockings and boots. TED was a great costume, I mean who doesn’t love a bear? Adding the apron and nametags made the costume even better. Get creative with yours too!

Joker and pirate costumes are all about the accessories, amazing make-up and clothes you already own. Dexter girl (use plastic wrap and you’re all set), Indian (Rachel wore a costume she has had for years and it looked super cute on) and ninja (Tara had the swords, leather and red accents) are very easy to put together.

Anchor It

Anchors, anchors, anchors… can’t get enough of them! This JCrew anchor blouse has become one of my favorite pieces in my closet. I can wear it pretty much with any skirt, shorts, pants, jeans and any other complimentary piece I have. It just fits right.

This time, I mixed my JCrew anchor blouse with a Zara lace skirt and Max Azria shoes for a fresh look. This amazing Clare Vivier pouch made dressing up fun. Anchors + lace + stripes = fun couture salad.

You can wear this outfit to go out for brunch, date, shopping… shall I go on? I know you get the point. It’s not a party without accessories to play with. So here you have them: Michael Kors oversize gold watch Stella & Dot bracelet, Lauren Ellan pearl necklace, Asos zig zag rings and the cat eye end wouldn’t be one without the House of Harlow Chelsea 1960 sunglasses.

Tip of the day: don’t be afraid to mix and match. Be playful and have fun putting outfits together. Before you know it, you’ll be pairing up a new necklace with a dress you your mom use to wear (which is over 30 years old but you brought it back to live by adding the right accessories and your personal style).

Infinity

I love infinity scarves! They’re THE fall accessory to have. They go well with any fall outfit and you can find them in all price ranges. Cool thing about these photos is that my boyfriend took them with his new iphone 5 and I was totally pleased with the outcome. The quality is incredible and you can’t even tell it was taken with a phone.

H&M infinity scarf (also loving this one), American Apparel knit stripe sweater crew neck dress, JCrew Martina patent wedges, Michael Kors large gold runway watch, Stella&Dot renegade cluster bracelet, Mint Julep starfish earrings, Reiss bag.
