Event planning can be stressful but if you know what to wear to make sure you’re comfortable, you can get through the events much easier. Becky Willging is the Special Events Coordinator at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, D.C. Light Summer

Summer is here and there’s nothing like floral print pants to get through this heat wave. I have to be honest, I’m surprised when ZARA pants fit me, we usually don’t get along but this pair is stretchy and really comfortable. Cotton pants let you breath in the summer and all you have left to do is pair it with a simple solid top or light sweater and you’re all set. Today is a bun kind of day, it’s the easiest and fastest hair-do I can pull up in the mornings and it always looks good. I’m looking forward to going to the beach this weekend and relax a little after being abroad for a long business trip. I hope you’re having a good week and have a relaxing weekend ahead of you! All of us girls began playing dress-up when we were little and continue to play with our outfits on a daily basis, at least I do. You know how we are always complaining we don’t have clothes when we’re looking for an outfit for a party or to go out even though we have a closet full of clothes? Well, I complaint too but in order to not disrupt my budget, I play around with outfits I’ve already wore and I know I love. The process is really easy, picture some of your favorite outfits, and then figure out how to mix and match. Before you know it, you’ll have a brand new outfit, without leaving the house and using your favorite clothes. Today, I’m sharing with you my favorite skater skirt matched with a peplum dress that I wore as a top. The outfit is good to accentuate your waist because it’s tight in the middle and then it flows with the skirt as one. I actually enjoy wearing this dress as a top because the skater skirt is very flowy so I feel protected having the dress skirt underneath. Marciano peplum dress wore as a blouse (I’m also loving this French Connection and Alice + Olivia peplum tops), ASOS skater skirt (also loving this one), ZARA high heel vamp shoes (these shoes are really a great buy, ZARA has them in blue and black and even though they’re high, which I love, they’re very comfortable. Todas nosotras empezamos a jugar a vestirnos desde que éramos chiquitas y continuamos jugando con nuestros conjuntos todos los días, por lo menos yo se que lo hago. El conjunto es chévere porque acentúa tu cintura, es ajustado en el medio y de ahí fluye con la falda como si estuvieran pegados. En serio, me gusta usar este vestido como blusa porque la falda de patinador es super bailarina y me siento protegida usando la falda del vestido por debajo de la falda patinador. Take peplums for example.  I feel like peplums have gone from a fun little feature of an outfit to an inescapable addition to every garment. Can I just maybe buy a dress without a peplum? Can I? That being said, I try to stay away from trends, or exercise them with extreme caution. Except for denim on denim! Denim on denim is the “Call Me Maybe” of trends. I am just not over it and I don’t ever want to be. | TRENDS: Trends sind wie dieser Song im Radio du wirklich auf den ersten geliebt, aber jetzt hasse es, weil es nicht aufhören zu spielen. Nehmen peplums zum Beispiel. Ich fühle mich wie peplums von einem lustigen kleinen Feature von einem Outfit zu einem unausweichlichen Ergänzung zu jedem Kleidungsstück gegangen. Kann ich nur vielleicht ein Kleid kaufen ohne Schößchen? Kann ich? That being said, ich versuche zu bleiben weg von Trends oder üben sie mit äußerster Vorsicht. Außer auf Denim Jeans! Ich bin einfach nicht über sie, und ich will nie zu sein. | TENDENCIAS: Las tendencias son como las canciones que escuchas en la radio que amas al principio y de ahí odias porque no paran de tocar. Un ejemplo de esto son los peplums. Pienso que los peplums han pasado de ser un lindo toque a una adición inescapable. Trato de mantenerme alejada de las tendencias o manejarlas con cautela. Con la excepción de denim sobre denim. Me encanta!
