For New Years Eve, I wanted something sparkly without having to break the bank for it. I was in between a dress and a skirt at first but given I was in New York City I opted for sequined leggings, very inexpensive (found this site from Pinterest) and just like that I started creating my NYE outfit. The leggings run a little shorter than expected but I used them as cropped pants, which did the trick.
Now let’s move to the blazer portion of the outfit. So I’ve had this blazer since 2006 or 2007 when I was in college and I almost got rid of it because I don’t use it anymore. While trying it on, I open the lapels, added a thick belt, rolled up the sleeves and created a fresh and chic look with something I already had in my closet. I’ve used the same blazer for the office; it looks very feminine and creative. Having the lapels together, gives the blazer a different vibe and it’s no longer formal but business casual and modern, what do you think? I must say the outfit was a big hit. Even though it was all black, the little details and sequins took this NYE outfit to another level. Para fin de año, quería algo brillante sin tener que romper el banco para ello. Estaba entre un vestido y una falda de lentejuelas en un principio pero teniendo en cuenta que estaba en la ciudad de Nueva York, opté por leggings de lentejuelas, muy barato (encontré el sitio por medio de Pinterest) y así comencé a crear mi outfit de fin de año. Los leggings corren un poco cortos pero los usé como pantalones cortos, que hicieron el truco.
Ahora vamos a pasar a la parte de la chaqueta del outfit. He tenido esta chaqueta desde el 2006 o 2007, cuando estaba en la universidad y casi me deshice de ella porque no la he usado en años. Probándomela, abrí las solapas, añadí un cinturón grueso, me remangué las mangas y creé un look fresco y elegante con algo que ya tenía en mi armario. He utilizado el mismo blazer para la oficina; se ve muy femenino y creativo. Poniendo las solapas juntas, da a la chaqueta una vibra diferente y ya no es formal, pero casual y moderna, ¿qué te parece? Debo decir que el outfit fue un gran éxito. A pesar de que todo el outfit era negro, los pequeños detalles y lentejuelas tomaron este outfit de NYE a otro nivel.
