TOP: ZARA CROPPED SHIRT WITH POCKETS (THE SATIN VERSION AND THE PETER PAN VERSION) | SKIRT: OLD FOREVER 21 FAUX LEATHER MINI SKIRT IN RED WINE COLOR (SIMILAR HERE AND ON THE OPTIONS BELOW) | SHOES: ZARA PATENT FINISH LOAFERS (29.95 EUR, ALSO COME IN BLACK, $49.90 U.S.), THE MANGO VERSION OF THE LEATHER LOAFERS, HIGHER IN PRICE BUT YOU SHOULD TRY IF THE ZARA ONES DON’T WORK FOR YOU.
If you try the patent leather loafers and they don’t quite fit, Zara also has this chunkier burgundy red stitching loafers if you like the fit better. My feet are long and narrow, so the patent finish loafers fit me better, but you do you. If you are into moody merlot hues for fall, Zara also has mesh bow flats, and super cure ballet flats with buckle, or the burgundy flat leather shoes. If the Zara ones don’t quite fit you, try the Mango leather loafers, which come in burgundy, black and a dark grey. I tried them but were a bit too wide and tight for me, which is weird as I have ballet three flats from Mango.
You just have to try and see what works best for you but worth the try as they are of good material, look expensive on but you don’t have to pay designer prices for these cuties. I love this burgundy, wine red, merlot or however you want to call this deep dark red color. It’s a good way to ease into fall with subtle tones and if you add a white crips shirt you can still feel the summer on you. I recently wore this white crop shirt, also from Zara, with burgundy loafers and this mini skirt that I’ve had in my closet for over 15 years while I was in San Sebastian, and it was a good choice.
San Sebastian in September is nice, sunny, and warm, it’s still be hot for skirts and shorts in the peak of the day, but the long sleeve shirt was good for the cooler mornings and evenings. I took this outfit from brunch in San Sebastian to sightseeing in Biarritz right across the border. If you’re visiting San Sebastian, you’ll have a great time, there are tons of restaurants everywhere you turn. We liked La Issla and Carai for brunch. You won’t have any trouble finding good food in the area, but I like places that have croissants, bowls, some sort of shake or smoothie so usually look for brunch restaurants near me, so I don’t get the million Spanish breakfast spots available.
