Matching Set Style

TOP: CAMILA COELHO KAHLO CROP TOP (ALSO LOVING THIS SET FROM PATBO BUT IT’S A LITTLE OUT OF MY BUDGET AT THE MOMENT) | SHORT: CAMILA COELHO CORELIA SHORT | SANDALS: STEVE MADDEN GREECE SANDALS | SUNGLASSES: KAREN WALKER SUPER DUPER STRENGTH ROUND ACETATE SUNGLASSES.

Matching sets are one of those looks that are super easy to wear particularly in summertime. I have a few statement matching sets I’ve collected throughout the years and let me tell you they are a good investment because you can mix and match them with other neutral pieces you have and already have new outfits, your wardrobe will get an instant refresher. I already wore this jacquard set in the Hamptons, I’m packing it for Ibiza, and I’ll be packing it for Italy later this summer. This set especially, is great for dinner outs, and I can mix it with other skirts, shorts, and pants I have so I don’t have to pack as much. I can rave endlessly about this look.

So many influencers have come out with their own lines but there are only a handful that I actually own because of the price, fit and like. Camila Coelho pieces are sexy, bright, and colorful and always super fun. This matching set is very playful with the puff sleeves and the ruffled shorts that for me, works out great since I’m not very curvy so it adds a little something extra to my look plus, I feel sophisticated and on it when I wear it. Think about it this way, matching sets are the perfect elements to create a summer-ready look that focuses on ease and practicality. The best part is that accessorizing will require little to zero effort because the focus is on the matching set.

If you’re looking to spruce up your closet with a two-piece set, I suggest starting with elevated basics with dominant colors that create a statement look. We’ve come a long way from that iconic Donna Karan green matching set that Gwyneth Paltrow wore in Great Expectations, I still remember thinking wow. Lose, fitted, solid or monochromatic patterns, there are endless options for you to choose from. Also, when I wear a matching set, I get a little flashback to Alicia Silverstone in Clueless when she’s picking up her matching yellow school girl set on the computer and when it matches, everything is good in the world.
