If you’re headed to the Hamptons this summer, fall, spring or whenever you’d like. Personally, I enjoy going in the off season, places are less crowded, there’s no traffic and hotels are cheaper. If you have never been, I recommend renting a car so you can hit all the big towns: Southampton, Bridgehampton, Amagansett, East Hampton, Sag Harbor (my favorite) and Montauk. If you have time, I suggest taking the ferry to Shelter Island. All these towns have a downtown area in Main Street, where you can shop, check out local stores and grab a bite.

I love to stay in Sag Harbor because it’s very walkable. I usually stay at the Sag Harbor Inn, which is an 8-minute walk to Main Street. My favorite restaurants in the area are as follows. SAG HARBOR: Lulu Kitchen & Bar, Mediterranean located at 126 Main St, Sag Harbor, NY 11963; Page at 63 Main, new American fare, have a great outdoor dining area on both sides of the street, located at 63 Main St, Sag Harbor, NY 11963; The Dock House located has seafood quick meals, including fresh lobsters they keep in a bath tub right front and center of the place, located at 1 Long Wharf, Sag Harbor, NY 11963; Dockside Bar & Grill is a classic seafood restaurant, they even have plantains and the lobster rolls are good, located at 26 Bay St, Sag Harbor, NY 11963; Tutto il Giorno Sag Harbor is one of my favorites (there’s also one in Southampton), the place is exquisite and you don’t want to miss the octopus appetizer and rigatoni Bolognese, located at 16 Main St, Sag Harbor, NY 11963; Dopo La Spiaggia is an upscale Tuscan restaurant with super cute alley quaint dining area, located at 8 W Water St, Sag Harbor, NY 11963. Sen is good for sushi, located at 23 Main St, Sag Harbor, NY 11963; Le Bilboquet is a nicer French restaurant with a fantastic harbor seating and view. Good for group dining, recommend making reservations in advance, located at 1 Long Wharf, Sag Harbor, NY 11963. Tons of other places, ice cream on the harbor, GOOP store, Sag Harbor bookstore. Provisions is great for a quick bite, located at 7 Main St, Sag Harbor, NY 11963.

AMAGANSETT: Wölffer Kitchen for brunch or dinner, try the kale apple salad, steak, chicken or anything else on the menu, located at 4 Amagansett Square, Amagansett, NY 11930; Bostwicks Chowdershouse has the best lobster rolls and lobster bisque, located at 277 Pantigo Rd, East Hampton, NY 11937; Moby’s has great pizzas, risottos, they have now open the bar inside so check it out for cocktails in the evening, located at 341 Pantigo Rd, East Hampton, NY 11937, La Fondita is a good Mexican spot located at 74 Montauk Hwy, Amagansett, NY 11930.

EAST HAMPTON: East Hampton Grill is good for a fancier dinner out, located at 99 N Main St, East Hampton, NY 11937; Serafina is great for group dinners, located at 104 N Main St, East Hampton, NY 11937; Rowdy Hall is good for local, easy American food, located at 10 Main St #2732, East Hampton, NY 11937; DOPO La Spiaggia located at 31 Race Ln, East Hampton, NY 11937; Cittanuova is easy and always have a table located at 29 Newtown Ln, East Hampton, NY 11937.

MONTAUK: Navy Beach is fantastic, go for drinks outside, get the miso glazed halibut with coconut curry sushi rice and truffled mac and cheese for a wonderful dinner, located at 16 Navy Rd, Montauk, NY 11954; Inlet Seafood (great harbor view on second floor), La Fin Kitchen & Lounge is a lovely French seaside restaurant that has live music on the weekends, located at 474 W Lake Dr, Montauk, NY 11954; Duryea’s is a self-serve seafood eatery with waterfront views, located at 65 Tuthill Rd, Montauk, NY 11954, Sel Rose is an extension from the one in the Lower East Side in New York City located at 4 S Elmwood Ave, Montauk, NY 11954; Scarpetta is an upscale Italian option with a nice dining room and patio, great for celebrating, located at 290 Old Montauk Hwy, Montauk, NY 11954; Gurney’s is always a good idea, if you’re staying there and want an easy meal, their restaurant has it all, located at 290 Old Montauk Hwy, Montauk, NY 11954; and The Surf Lodge are great to go for cocktails, located at 83 Edgemere St, Montauk, NY 11954. Of course, you have Lobster and Clam Shack but my favorite lobster roll place is in Amagansett.
