Luxury outside Bordeaux is the Les Sources de Caudalie located at Smith Haut-Lafitte, 33650 Martillac, France. It has everything you’ll need to relax at the spa with Caudalie products of course, a pool, restaurants for all times of day and likes. You can enjoy a decadent Michelin star meal at La Grand’ Vigne or go more casual at La Table Du Lavoir or get a glass of wine and small bites at the Rouge wine bar. We did this after our tasting as we wanted to sit down and relax and not wait until 7:00 PM when the restaurants officially open. It was a hot summer day in French wine country and the setting was perfection.
A little white dress is the perfect companion for your summer travels. I always carry one with me. This one was perfect for French wine country as some days were cooler than others. This particular day, we went south of Bordeaux for a tasting, and it was extremely hot for the region, so I wanted to wear something summery, light but bot wear shorts as I wanted to go get a bite later in the afternoon, so this dress was a multitasker just like yours truly. Château Smith Haut Lafitte, Grand Cru Classé de Graves, of course was the main attraction. The estate has a 16th century tower, a Scottish wine merchant, George Smith owned the property in the 18th century, hence the magnificent Scottish arquitecture, which is a nice change from all the chateaus in the region.
