Fall season in Madrid is the best time in the city. The mornings and evenings are cooler, and the days/afternoons are warm but manageable. There’s nothing better than waking up with the window open and breathing that cool air first thing in the morning. When it comes to what to wear during the slight change of weather transition time, I play it safe. For day and afternoon activities that I know I won’t be out too late I opt for Bermuda shorts, skirts and dresses. Light layers and you’ll have the perfect basic pieces for fall. When I go out in the late afternoon, I go with a shirt and pants or vest and pants or short sleeve shirt and pants to keep it sleek, fresh and comfortable.
I typically add a blazer if I’m wearing Bermuda shorts, dresses or skirts. Otherwise, the weather is still too warm for pants and blazers, unless you’re going out straight from the office then you’ll see more blazers out and about or for those that can’t wait for fall and don’t mind being too warm with their blazers on but hey to each its own. I get warm fast so tend to go with lighter pieces until the weather cools a little more later on this fall. An oversized shirt with pants, Bermuda shorts, leggings or jeans loose works out great. You can also add a belt to your jeans or linen trousers for a more fitted look.
