Iconic

Fall, fall, fall, finally I get to unpack all my blazers. Blazer season is on! Blazers can complement an outfit so much, especially when it’s an iconic bright jacket like this. I got it a couple of months ago at Georgetown Fashion Night Out, and had Inslee Haynes from Inslee by Design draw a sketch of my outfit which I was so much fun!

The Rebecca Minkoff Becky jacket features a subtly-shaped shoulder which adds a chic and edgy look, it’s very feminine and it fits perfect! I totally recommend you trying this iconic jacket, trust me, you’ll fall in love.

Rebecca Minkoff Becky jacket, Theory dress (similar here), Aldo shoes, House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea sunglasses, Monogram necklace, Michael Kors runway watch, Stella & Dot renegade cluster bracelet, Mint Julep Starfish Earrings.

Pencil

When it comes to chic office outfits, I tend to go with pencil style pieces. It’s very simple, the high waist of the pencil style elongates your body, it’s fitted and has a subtle way to mesh with your body. The pencil style accentuates your waist, hugs your curves and pushes you to pay more attention to your walk. So you know ladies, get your strut on!

Pencil style is such a classic look, it’s timeless and you can wear it up or down depending on the fabric and added items you decide to wear your outfit with. Make sure the fit is right on the waist and hips, the rest will fall into place by itself.

My look: Asos Midi pencil dress, Zara shoes, Marc by Marc Jacobs Q Hillier bag, Mint Julep starfish earrings and Rayban aviators.

Whether you’re mixing a patterned pencil skirt with a solid color shirt or have a solid pencil skirt and a solid color shirt, just follow your instinct, be confident and stay comfortable. You’ll see how easy it is to make a pencil style outfit work.

Black & Tan

This past weekend Will took these photographs in New York and the idea of seating on stoops and wearing flats is no longer miles away since the weather is getting a tad warmer.

As I live on suitcase, I always have to plan my outfits carefully to make sure I take all the accessories, shoes, bags and everything else that goes with every outfit I plan to wear.

A black top is always a good idea and adding this fantastic necklace (bought in New York) added color and fun to my head-to-toe black outfit.

Loose top from Zara, skinny jeans from Marciano and Michael Kors chronograph gold watch. Tory Burch flats (classic reva ballet flats) and Marc by Marc Jacobs classic Q Hillier hobo bag.

Inside my Bag

What is inside my bag? A bundle of essentials I need to carry with me every day! My Marc by Marc Jacobs Q Hillier bag has been one of my best purchases. It is quite spacey to house all of my favorite things. My Longchamp ‘Le Pliage’ 2-Tone Pouchette holds all my make-up and first aid essentials (I will reveal on an upcoming post). I also carry the latest issue of Vogue or JCrew’s catalog, icebreakers and/or gum, a notepad to house all my blogging and work light-bulb moments, business cards holder, Ray-Ban sunglasses, mini sewing kit, umbrella, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, blackberries, Louis Vuitton card holder and Tory Burch embossed continental wallet.
